温哥华近期发现一种新的鲑鱼病毒,一名生物学专家在温市一些超市购买了45条养殖鲑鱼,其中44条感染了这种新病毒,食用含有这种病毒的鲑鱼能能导致心脏和骨骼肌炎症。 1999年挪威首先发现这种病毒,当时超过400座养鱼场都受影响。目前,这批含有病毒鲑鱼的来源尚未证实。尽管遭抽样调查的超市海鲜部员工表示,这批受新病毒感染的鲑鱼产自卑省的鲑鱼养殖场。但展开检测的生物学家Alexandra Morton对此说法表示怀疑,他指出,根据抽样鱼的大小及形状,这些鲑鱼应该来自不同的养殖场,甚至也可能是从挪威进口的,「如果这批鲑鱼是进口的,那将会是个大问题。」

Morton认为确定鲑鱼来源非常重要,「病毒很可能会扩散到野生鲑鱼群中,继而影响到其他鱼类,加拿大的渔业将受到威胁。应该找出病源,杀掉所有被感染的鱼。」加拿大食品检验局(The Canadian Food Inspection Agency/CFIA)、渔业部门和联邦卫生部目前尚未对事作出回应。

  These fish products have been sold only at McEwan Gourmet Grocery Store (an upscale North York grocery store) located at 38 Karl Fraser Road, North York, Ontario.
  Because the food are affected, they may contain the bacterium that causes botulism. (肉毒杆菌) Food contaminated with Clostridium botulinum toxin may not look or smell spoiled.
  Botulism is a potentially life-threatening illness with symptoms that include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, headache, double vision, dry throat, respiratory failure and paralysis. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
  No illnesses have been reported.

  食物遭到肉毒杆菌的污染﹐看上去没有异样﹐嗅上去也没有问题﹐但人们如果食用被肉毒杆菌污染的食物﹐可能引发恶心、呕吐、疲劳、头痛、晕眩、呼吸急促等徵状,严重者可能致命。迄今为止,加拿大食品检验局尚未接获任何相关产品致病的报告。
